SHE’S BACK! ‘THE NUN 2’ GETS AN OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE
By Michelle Flores
The Nun 2 is about to terrify us in cinemas as our favorite demonic nun Valak is back. The highly anticipated sequel will be released in theaters on September 8, arriving five years after the first movie.
Filming took place from October 2022 to January 2023 and despite some recent release date shifts by Warner Bros, the horror sequel has remained on schedule as an early Halloween treat for fans.
American Horror Story star Taissa Farmiga is back as Sister Irene, and she’ll be joined by Jonas Bloquet as Maurice “Frenchie” Theriault. However, Demian Bichir will not be back as Father Burke. Of course, Bonnie Aarons is returning as Valak, because it wouldn’t be a Nun movie without the terrifying central character. Newcomers for the sequel include Euphoria and Suicide Squad star Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Downey.
Behind the scenes, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It director Michael Chaves is at the helm.
The Nun 2 will be released in theaters on September 8, 2023.
